A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO ACCEPT AND ALLOCATE THE FY23 CONNECT & PROTECT GRANT

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, with its partner Arisa Health Inc., was awarded by the DOJ an FY23 Connect & Protect Grant in the amount of $550,000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro agreed to provide an in-kind match of $213,841; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro and Arisa Health Inc., will for three years administer a law enforcement behavioral health program designed to help those suffering from a mental health and/or substance abuse crisis.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro will enter into an agreement with the Department of Justice to accept the Connect & Protect Grant in the amount of $550,000.
SECTION 2: The City of Jonesboro will allocate those funds to Arisa Health Inc., for the administration of the aforementioned program.
SECTION 3: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, to execute all necessary documents to effectuate the allocation.
