A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CRAIGHEAD COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL AUTHORITY (CCSWDA).

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro currently disposes of all Class 1 waste stream at CCSWDA landfill; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (Resolution 2005:30) that requires CCSWDA to transport the Class 1 waste stream from the Strawfloor Landfill Transfer Station to CCSWDA's landfill; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has decided to abandon its intentions to operate the Strawfloor Landfill Transfer Station for Class 1 waste management.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

1.      The Mayor and City Clerk, be and are hereby authorized to execute the First Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding.

2.      This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
