A RESOLUTION INCREASING THE CLASS IV LANDFILL TIPPING FEES

WHEREAS, the provision of the Jonesboro Code of Ordinance Section 5.16.04 and 5.16.11 provides for Class 4 waste materials to be disposed of in the City Class IV landfill and,                     

 

WHEREAS, the tipping fees have not been increased since 1990 and there is a need to increase the tipping fees for non-hazardous, bulky, inert, non-putrescrible solid waste disposed of in the City’s Class IV Landfill.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

1: The fee for disposal of construction and demolition waste, appliances, furniture, stumps and other bulky inert non-putrescrible waste in the class IV landfill shall be set at $26.00 a ton plus sales tax. A minimum fee of $8.00 plus sales tax up to 600 pounds. From 600 pounds up to 2,000 pounds the rate shall be pro-rated.

 

Construction waste shall consist of all solid waste building materials including, but not limited to, dirt, rocks, concrete, brick, asphalt, lumber, processed wood products, roofing materials, shingles, sheet rock, plaster, doors, and windows that result from construction, remodeling, and repair of commercial and industrial establishments, houses, garages, porches, wood fencing and storage buildings.

 

2. This resolution shall take effect 30 days from the date of its passage and approval. Notice of the change shall be posted at the landfill no later than three (3) days from the date of its passage and approval.
