AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE TRAFFIC PLAN PRESENTED BY THE METROPOLITAN AREA TRAFFIC AUTHORITY FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO FOR FUTURE PLANNING OF STREETS, ROADWAYS AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS AND FOR THE CREATION OF A PERMANENT METROPOLITAN AREA TRAFFIC AUTHORITY TO OVERSEE IMPLEMENTATION OF SUCH PLAN.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby adopts the Street and Highway Planning Study submitted by the Jonesboro Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority to the City of Jonesboro in January of 1992. Said study being on file for public viewing in the Office of the City Clerk.

SECTION 2: This Ordinance establishes a permanent Metropolitan Area Traffic Authority to oversee the progress of implementing the plan.

SECTION 3: This Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17^th day of February, 1992.
