AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A 1988 CATERPILLAR LIFT-TRUCK.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro Street Department needs to purchase the following: 1988 Caterpillar lift-truck - serial #3EC2824, Model U50D
SECTION 2: That said vehicle may be purchased from Grady W. Jones, inc., located in Memphis, Tennessee for the sum of Ten Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($10,900).
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2) (B) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described vehicle for the price set forth in Section 2 above. Said amount shall be paid by money from the Street Department's fixed assets line item in the Street Department Budget.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above vehicle, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
