RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE ABANDONMENT OF AN ALLEY EXTENDING FROM MAIN STREET AS REQUESTED BY E.C. BARTON & COMPANY

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by E.C. Barton & Company praying that an alley in Block “H” of the Original Survey of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be abandoned and closed as follows:

An alley running east and west through the west ½ of Block “H” or the Original Survey to the City of Jonesboro, said alley extending from Main Street to the west to an alley on the east running north and south through said Block “H” of Original Survey to Jonesboro, said alley running easy and west being 100 feet in width.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, give notice by publication once a week for two weeks in some newspaper published in Craighead County, advising the property owners affected that on the 4^th day of May, 1964, the Council will hear the petition and determine whether such property shall be abandoned as an alley and whether all abutting property owners and other persons directly interested have consented to such abandonment.
