AN ORDINANCE TO LAY OFF THE WHOLE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, AS NOW ESTABLISHED BY LAW, INTO AN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE DESIGNATED WATER DISTRICT NO. 1, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FURNISHING WATER AND PURCHASING OR ACQUIRING A WATER PLANT NOW THE PROPERTY OF THE JONESBORO WATER & LIGHT COMPANY

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
That the entire City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be and the same is hereby laid off into an improvement District.
That said Improvement District be and the same is hereby designated as Water District No. 1.
That said Improvement District be and the same is hereby created and laid off for the purpose of furnishing water to the inhabitants of said City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and to acquire or purchase a water plant complete, now the property of the Jonesboro Water & Light Company, and to maintain and operate the same, said improvement to be general and local.
That the boundaries of said Improvement District be and they are hereby made the same as the boundaries of said City of Jonesboro as now established by law.
That this ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its passage and adoption.
Passed and adopted this 19th day of March, 1906.
