RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON AN ALLEY LOCATED SOUTH OF WASHINGTON AVENUE AND EAST OF MADISON

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requesting that the alley located south of Washington Avenue and east of Madison Street running east and west in Block "D" of the Original Survey of the City of Jonesboro more particularly described as beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 10, Block "D"; thence east 130'; thence south 10' thence west 130' to the right of way of Madison Street; thence north 10' along the right of way of Madison Street to the northwest corner of Lot 9, also the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires two weeks public notice before the above alley can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public of the request by the property owners to vacate and abandon an alley running east and west, south of Washington Avenue and east of Madison Street and that this matter will be heard before the City Council at 7:15 p.m. on May 15, 1995, at City Hall, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
