AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT IN THE NORTH ACRES APARTMENT COMPLEX; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: From and after passage and adoption of the Ordinance the maximum speed limit in North Acres Apartment complex shall be 15 miles per hour.
Section 2: The Chief of Police or some other person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described street at the proper places, appropriate signs reading “15 miles per hour” and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to tear down, or mutilate such signs.
Section 3: Every person convicted of a violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $50.00.
Section 4: All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council that the increasing amount of traffic congestion and lack of traffic control devices have caused danger to life and property and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and the Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and adoption.
