AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Commercial Three to Residential One (C-3 to R-1) for the property described as follows:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (NW¼, NW¼) of Section 31, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas being more particularly described as follows:  Commence at the Northwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter of Northwest Quarter of Section 31, thence South 0º59'57" West 208.81 feet; thence South 0º51' East 98.48 feet to the point of beginning proper;

 

Continue thence North 89º15'42" East 513.64 feet; thence South 0º16'19" East 474.83 feet; thence North 89º55' 43" West 510.34 feet; thence North 0º12'30" West 127.26 feet; thence North 0º51' West 340.35 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 5.54 acres more or less and being subject to all public and private roads and easements.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
