A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR ADDITIONAL STREET OVERLAYS AND AMEND THE CONTRACT WITH ATLAS ASPHALT, INC. FOR THE 2023 ASPHALT MILLING AND OVERLAYS SELECTED CITY STREETS PROJECT - JOB NO. 2023:02

WHEREAS, favorable conditions have allowed early completion of initial pavement management projects, allowing for additional infrastructure investments to be considered; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro Street and Engineering Departments have identified multiple streets projects in need based off data provided by recently incorporated pavement management software; and
WHEREAS, maintained and adequately surfaced City streets will help with the continued maintenance performed by the Street Department; and
WHEREAS, Atlas Asphalt, Inc. has agreed to amend the 2023 Asphalt Milling and Overlays Selected City Street Project to include additional City streets; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to allocate up to $1,000,000 from the 2022 Capital Improvement Carryover Fund to fund the above action.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro approves allocating up to $1,000,000 from the 2022 Capital Improvement Carryover Fund for street overlays.
Section 2: The City of Jonesboro shall amend the contract with Atlas Asphalt, Inc. to perform overlays for additional City streets.
Section 3: The Mayor, Harold Copenhaver, and City Clerk April Leggett, are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to allocate funds and amend the contract with Atlas Asphalt, Inc.
