AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From R-1 to C-3 the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

A part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 13 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas to wit:  From the Northwest Corner of said Northeast Quarter Northeast Quarter run South along the West line of said Northeast Quarter Northeast Section 2, Township 13 North, Range 3 East 884.70 feet; then run North 88°47' East 618.7 feet to the Northwesterly Right-of-way line of Arkansas State Hwy. #49 (aka Southwest Drive) then run North 19°42'00" East along said Highway right-of-way line 115.9 feet; then run South 88°14'00" west 21.49 feet to the Point of Beginning; then run South 88°14'00" west 228.51 feet; thence run North 19°42'00" East 150.00 feet; then run North 88°14'00" East 228.51 feet; then run South 19°42'00" West along said highway right-of-way line 150.00 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 0.73 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
