RESOLUTION ASSIGNING RESPONSIBILITY OF MAINTENANCE TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO FOR MELODY LANE, SHERWOOD DRIVE, WOODLAND LANE AND DOGWOOD LANE

WHEREAS, in consideration of the payment of $1,500.00, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged from the property owners on Melody Lane, Sherwood Drive, Woodland Lane and Dogwood Lane, the City of Jonesboro hereby agrees to do the following;
(1) The City of Jonesboro accepts the streets Melody Lane, Sherwood Drive, Woodland Lane and Dogwood Lane into the system of Jonesboro City Streets.
(2) The City of Jonesboro accepts responsibility for making necessary corrections in drainage ditches now in use on the streets referred to, to include in particular two 36” tile, 42’ long at the main drainage ditch where it crosses Dogwood Lane, and provide poured concrete headwalls; and two 42” tile, 42’ long, at the main drainage ditch where it crosses Melody Lane, with poured concrete headwalls, or the equivalent drainage area by means of poured concrete culverts in these two locations, to include knock-out plugs for future drop tiles.
(3) The City of Jonesboro agrees to bring these streets herein referred to, to proper grade, providing a 30’ travel surface with a 6” crown, and adequate “V” ditches at the sides to provide proper drainage, and surface with 6” compacted gravel.
(4) The City of Jonesboro agrees to commence these improvements immediately and continue work until finished, weather permitting.
(5) The City of Jonesboro accepts full responsibility for future maintenance necessary to preserve the above improvements.
(6) It is understood and agreed that all former resolutions pertaining to Melody Lane, Sherwood Drive, Woodland Lane and Dogwood Lane are hereby rescinded and superseded by the above agreement.
