RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON AN ALLEY AS REQUESTED BY RANDY & DENISE SIMPKINS/JERRILYN BEESON

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that the existing alley adjacent to and between the west side of lots 12,13, 14 and the east side of lots 9, 10, 11, all of block 5 of Matthews Addition, Craighead County, Jonesboro, Arkansas be vacated and abandoned; AND

WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro Arkansas; AND

WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires two week public notice before the above alley can be vacated and abandoned;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public of the request by the property owners to vacate and abandon the unimproved alley and this matter will be heard before the City Council on May 21, 2001 at 6:15 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 900 W. Monroe, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
