AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A CASE W752 DOUBLE DRUM ROLLER, SERIAL NO. 840177918.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the Street Department needs to purchase the following:
CASE W752 DOUBLE DRUM ROLLER, SERIAL NO. 840177918
SECTION 2: That such equipment can be purchased from the Ed Ball Construction Company located at 3407 Southwest Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas for the sum of $25,005.00 which includes sales tax.
SECTION 3: That the City Council, in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2) (b) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described for the set forth in Section 2 above, Said amount shall be paid by money from the Street Departments fixed assets line item in the Street Department Budget.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above machinery, and emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect from and after its approval.
