RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A FEE FOR CONSTRUCTION WASTE DISPOSAL IN THE CLASS IV LANDFILL

WHEREAS, the provisions of the Jonesboro Code of Ordinances Section 5.16.04 and 5.16.11 provides for Class 4 waste materials to be disposed of in the City Class IV landfill and,
WHEREAS, there is a need to establish a fee for construction waste disposal in the City’s Class IV landfill,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
1. The fee for disposal of construction waste in the Class IV landfill shall be as follows:
The fee for construction waste be set at $16.00 a ton. A minimum fee of $8.00 charge for less than 1000 lb. From 1000 lb. To 2000 lb., the rate shall be pro-rated.
Construction waste shall consist of all solid waste building materials including, but not limited to, dirt, rock, concrete, brick, asphalt, lumber, processed wood products, roofing, shingles, sheet rock, plaster, doors, windows that result from construction, remodeling, and repairs of commercial and industrial establishments, houses, garages, porches, wood fencing and storage buildings.
2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
