AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to be amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission, by the changes in zoning boundaries as follows: From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2):
Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, Section 13, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, lying South of the South right-of-way line of Washington Avenue, West of the West Bank of Christian Creek and North of the North right-of-way line of Matthews Avenue less and except the West 926.88 feet thereof, containing 6.34 acres, more or less. General location of this property is South of Washington Avenue North of Matthews and adjoining the West Bank of Christian Creek
The recommendation is made with the following stipulation: An additional 11’ is to be dedicated on Matthews
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and therefore, this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
