SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, APRIL 23, 1984
The Jonesboro City Council met in special session, Monday, April 23, 1984, at 5:00 p.m. Present were Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and all aldermen except Mr. Blevins.
The following ordinance was on 3rd reading:
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A CITY LANDFILL MANAGEMENT COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Mr. Hannah moved, seconded by Mr. Province, to amend the ordinance asking that the Sanitation Committee be placed on the Commission. All voted aye except: Mr. Park, Mr. Stricklin, Mr. Hinson, Mr. Shelton, Mr. Bridger, Mr. Schaaf, Mr. Sanderson and Mr. Mays. Motion failed 8-3.
Mr. Sanderson moved, seconded by Mr. Stricklin to adopt the unamended ordinance. All voted aye except Mr. Hannah, Mr. Province, and Mr. Nix. Motion passed. The ordinance was given the number 1866.
After discussion from City residents, Mr. Hannah moved, seconded by Mr. Park, to uphold the decision of the Board of Zoning Adjustment concerning Ordinance number 1858 - Zoning ordinance. All voted aye. Reasons were stated to deny the appeal because the property is zoned in accordance to that is being developed and that the owner has proceeded in a correct manner for development.
There being no further business, council adjourned.
