AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT OF CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS; FOR ZONING AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition was filed for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, on January 14, 1983; and
WHEREAS, said petition for annexation was duly signed by the sole owners of all of the lands to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, said petition was granted following proper notice and publication;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 1: The territories and lands annexed to the City by the order of the County Court of May 3, 1983, is and are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, and said territory shall hereafter be deemed to be a part and parcel of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas;
Section 2: The lands hereby annexed to the City are more particularly described as Follows:
Lot 1 in Block “B” of Curtview Acres, Jonesboro
Section 3: The lands annexed to the City are hereby assigned and attached to Ward 5 of the City.
Section 4: Said lands are hereby zoned Residential (R-2).
Section 5: It is hereby found and declared to be an extreme emergency that for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare said lands should be immediately annexed and accepted into the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 4th day of March, 1983.
