AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954, known as the Zoning Ordinance for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) of the following described property lying in Craighead County, Arkansas, to wit: (J.C. Sikes - Mike Mitchell, Continental Properties)
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the South Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence East 210 Feet; thence South 207 feet; thence West 210 feet; thence North 207 feet to the point of beginning; said parcel to be eventually described as Lot No. 1 of Sikes First Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the proper use of the tract of land described above is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and, this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
