A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT CERTAIN POLICIES FOR MANAGEMENT OF CITY FINANCES

WHEREAS, the maintenance of a worthwhile accounting and finance function is necessary to ensure that funds provided by the citizens of the City of Jonesboro and others are accounted and used responsibly; and
WHEREAS, City management desires to utilize policies to serve as guidance to City staff, and as a recognition of its responsibility;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The attached policy, titled “Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Policy”, is hereby adopted.
Section 2: The attached policy, titled “Capital Improvements Policy”, is hereby adopted.
Section 3: The attached policy, titled “Cash & Investments Management Policy”, is hereby adopted.
Section 4: The attached policy, titled “Fixed Assets, Vehicles & Equipment Records Policy”, is hereby adopted.
Section 5: The attached policy, titled “Fund Balances Reserves Policy”, is hereby adopted.
Section 6: The attached policy, titled “General Financial Management Policy”, is hereby adopted.
PASSED and ADOPTED the 17th day of November, 2009.
