AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.892 OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN STANDARD REQUIREMENTS IN REGARD TO THE EMPLOYMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO (Amended by ordinance no.941)

BE IT ORDAIANED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
 
SECTION 1: That from and after the passage and adoption of this ordinance section 1 (a) of Ordinance No.892 shall be amended to read as follows:
 
SECTION 2: This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effects and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
 
(A)  Any such applicant shall be over the age of 24 years and in the event such applicant does not have at least 5 years practical experience as a peace officer, shall not be over 35 years of age; but in the event such applicant proves at least five years satisfactory practical experience as a peace office such applicant shall not have reached his 45th birthday. A duly certified photo static copy of a birth certificate of such applicant shall be filed with the chief of the department and shall remain on file.
 
SECTION 3: This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
