RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PRE-APPLICATION FOR SMALL CITIES PROGRAM FUNDING - 1978

WHEREAS, the City is desirous of making application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a grant of funds to carry out a variety of community improvement activities under the Small Cities Program as authorized by the 1977 Amendments to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, on the basis of the evaluation of community development needs it is determined that the City should submit a Pre-Application for a Multi-Year Comprehensive Program Grant in the amount of $1,500,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
(1) That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to submit in behalf of the City a Pre-Application for Small Cities Program Grant under the Community Development Program on Standard Form 424 together with related maps, forms and narrative.
(2) That the amount of the Pre-Application shall be $1,500,000 under the Multi-Year Comprehensive Program.
(3) That this resolution shall take effects immediately.
