RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO GRANT AN EASEMENT ON THE EAST SIDE OF HIGHWAY 63, SOUTH OF WASHINGTON AVENUE INTERCHANGE TO THE ARKANSAS ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE CORPORATION FOR RELOCATION OF A TRANSMISSION LINE

WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department through its contractor, is constructing a fully controlled access on Highway 63 at the Washington Avenue intersection; AND
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro owns property (see description on the attached Right of Way Permit for Transmission line document) on which an easement is needed to relocate an existing transmission line; AND
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to grant such easement to the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation without charge; AND
WHEREAS, the Public Works Committee of the City Council endorsed the Mayor's recommendation to convey said property without compensation on November 15, 2005.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the attached Right of Way Permit for Transmission Line document to grant said easement to the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation.
