AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 14 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Title 14 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:

 

From Industrial (I-2) to Commercial (C-3) LU, General Commercial District with a limited use overlay to permit the following commercial uses:  Automated Teller Machine; Bank or Financial Institution; Car Wash; Convenience Store; Government Service; Hotel or Motel; Medical Office/Service; Post Office; Restaurant, Fast Food; Restaurant, General; Retail/Services; Safety Services; Service Station; Sign, Off Premise; Vehicle and Equipment Sales; Warehouse; Freight Terminal; Research Services; and Agriculture, Farmers Market; of property described as follows:

 

Lots 19, 20, 22 and 23 of Harmon Industrial Park Second Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, as shown by plat in Plat Cabinet “C” at page 52 in the office of the Circuit Court Clerk and Ex-officio Recorder, Craighead County, Arkansas.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of July, 2003.
