AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE CERTAIN TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: The City Council finds and declares that the conditions of traffic is such as to endanger the traveling public and pedestrians on certain streets and certain intersections and that certain traffic control devices are to be established and placed on the following streets and at the following intersections:

(a) Stop sign to be placed at the northwest corner of Dupwe and West Nettleton, traffic on Dupwe yielding to traffic on W. Nettleton;
(b) Stop sign to be placed at the intersection of Dupwe and Cenwood, traffic on Cenwood to yield to traffic on Dupwe;
(c) Stop Sign to be placed at the intersection of Dupwe and Rainwood Drive, traffic on Rainwood yielding to traffic on Dupwe;
(d) Stop sign to be placed at the intersection of Dupwe and Bunkerhill, traffic on Dupwe yielding to traffic on Bunkerhill;
(e) Stop sign to be placed at the intersection of Mt. Vernon and Bunkerhill, traffic on Mt. Vernon yielding to traffic on Bunkerhill;
(f) Stop sign to be placed at the intersection of Bunkerhill and Loberg Lane, traffic on Bunkerhill to yield to traffic on Loberg Lane:
(g) All streets in the Scenic Hill Subdivision will be 20 MPH speed zones.

Section 2: The drivers of all vehicles shall obey all traffic control signs per instruction on the face thereof.

Section 3: The Chief of Police or some person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described streets and at the proper intersections, appropriate signs designating traffic control as set out above and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to tear down, remove or mutilate said signs.

Section 4: All ordinances and/or ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
