A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO SUPPORT AN APPLICATION TO THE 2009 GENERAL IMPROVEMENT FUND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is making application for the 2009 General Improvement Fund Regional Development Grant Program; and

WHEREAS, this grant is administered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and there is a submission deadline of January 29, 2010; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is seeking funding for regional planning related to the recently established Comprehensive Planning Advisory Commission; and

WHEREAS, the grant DOES NOT required a cash match.

BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

SECTION 1:                     The Mayor is hereby authorized to submit an application to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission for the purpose of securing state grant funds.

SECTION 2:                     The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and accept such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
