AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF JOHN WOOD DRIVE

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
 
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby release, vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the streets designated as follows:             
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
 
A part of the southerly right of way of John Wood Drive more particularly described as follows;
 
From the north corner of Lot 16 in Block A of Benton's Subdivision Extended of Part of the East Half of the Southwest Quarter of section 2, Township 13 North, Range 3 East Lying North of Arkansas Highway 39 (now US Hwy 49) the Point of Beginning;
 
Thence S53º41' 47" W. 200.00 feet along the North Line of said Lot 16 along the Southerly Right of way of John Wood Drive to a point, thence S64º51'13"W 51.45 feet along the North Line of said Lot 16 along the Southerly Right Of Way of John Wood Drive to a point, thence N55º58'21"E 250.67 feet along the North Line of Lot 1 of the Baltz Replat in Benton's Subdivision Extended to the North Corner thereof, the point of beginning, containing some 0.023 acres, more or less.
 
SECTION 2: A copy of the ordinance certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Craighead County, Arkansas and shall be filed in the Deed Records of such office.
 
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas finds and declares that the above portions of streets are not necessary for the general benefit and welfare of the public: that the  owners  of  all  the  property abutting  the above street and that therefore of the closure and vacation of the above street  and that therefore  an emergency is declared to exist  and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 1992.
