AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE SENIOR FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICER ON DUTY TO SEND THE RESCUE TRUCK BELONGING TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, OUT OF THE CITY LIMITS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas: that the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered 9-13, which said section reads as follows:

 

Section 1: That the Senior Fire Department Officer on duty shall be authorized to send the Fire Department Rescue Truck out of the corporate limits of Jonesboro, Arkansas, without the corporate limits of Jonesboro, Arkansas, without the prior approval of either of the Mayor or the Chief of the Fire Department, if the mayor or Fire Chief are out of their offices or if the Fire Chief is away from the Central Fire Station.

 

Section 2: That Section 1 applies solely to the Fire Departments Rescue Truck and does not apply to any other piece of fire equipment; and this ordinance does not repeal or supersede any other ordinance within the Code of Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that to preserve life and property more effectively and efficiently that this Ordinance is needed and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from its passage and approval.
