AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2012 ANNUAL BUDGET AND THE CITY SALARY & ADMINISTRATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ADD A TRAFFIC OPERATIONS ENGINEER TO THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR THE PERSERVATION OF THE PULIC PEACE, HEALTH AND SAFETY IN ORDER TO GET THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS COORDIANTE AND PROVIDE RELIEF TO THE TRAFFIC FLOW IN THE CITY,

WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 11:089 adopted the 2012 Budget; and
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 09:201 adopted the City Salary & Administration Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance Committee, to ensure sufficient staffing in the Engineering Department, that the position of Grants Coordinator be added;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The annual 2011 budget of the City of Jonesboro is amended by the addition of a Traffic Operations Engineer with a salary range of $70,000 to 80,000.
SECTION 2: It is further found an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, in order to get the traffic signals coordinated and to ease traffic flow in the city, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
