RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON A PORTION OF AN ALLEY

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that a portion of an alley described as follows be vacated and abandoned:
A portion of an alley in the original survey to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and described as follows: begin at the Southwest Corner of Lot 6, Block D; thence North approximately 90 feet to the Northwest Corner of Lot 4, Block D; thence West approximately 10 feet to the Northeast Corner of Lot 7 of Block D; thence South approximately 90 feet to the Southeast Corner of Lot 7, Block D; thence East approximately 10 feet to the Southwest Corner of Lot 6 of Block D, the point of beginning proper, all in the original survey to the City Of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires two weeks public notice before the above street can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advertising the public of the property owners request to vacate and abandon that portion of an alley described above; and that this matter will be heard before the City Council on May 17, 1993 at 7:15 p.m. at City Hall, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
