RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE NDP

WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Jonesboro has previously approved the Urban Renewal Plan for NDP dated ______ hereinafter called the Plan and has met with all legal requirements pertaining to approval thereto of said Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Plan as amended November, 1972, hereinafter referred to as the Amended Plan serves only to clarify and provide more precise information on certain activities already proposed in a more general nature in the Plan, more specifically the inclusion of a narrative description concerning the acquisition and clearance of property in the Urban Renewal Area, warranting clearance because of sub-standard or blighting conditions, a metes and bounds boundary description of the URS and minimum property standards for the rehabilitation of residential and non-residential properties; and
WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the Amendments to the Plan is to further serve the intent and objectives of the Plan as previously approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF JONESBORO, ARK:
1. That the URP amended November, 1972, for the Program having been duly reviewed and considered is hereby approved and the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to file said copy of the URP amended November, 1972, with the minutes of this meeting.
2. That it is hereby found and determined that where clearance is proposed that the objectives of the URP cannot be achieved through more extensive rehabilitation of portions of the URP comprising the program.
3. That it is hereby found and determined that the Urban Renewal Plan for the Program to the general plan of the locality.
