AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES AS REQUESTED BY JERRY MARIOTT

BE IT ORDAINED   by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas,  be  amended  as  recommended  by  the  Metropolitan  Area  Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3)   the following described property: Jerry Mariott:

 

Begin at the northeast corner of the SE 1/4, NW 1/4 of Section 36, T14N, R3E, Craighead County, Arkansas, thence West along the North Line of the SE 1/4, NW 1/4 aforesaid 183.2 feet to the centerline of United States Highway #49; thence South 41º56' West along said centerline 57.75 feet; thence along said centerline South 41º52' West 57.75 feet; thence West 126.2 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence South 31º38'56" East 39.67 feet; thence South 48º04' West 113.47 feet; thence North 21º47' West 118.07 feet; thence West 107.43 feet to the point of beginning, containing .19 acres and also known as Marriott Minor Plat.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage an approval.
