A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS NAMING ACCESS #3 PLAYGROUND AT CRAIGHEAD FOREST PARK

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro adopted resolution number 2005:120 to establish guidelines for naming public facilities;
WHEREAS, Jerry Bookout, a State Senator, was an outstanding citizen of Jonesboro who assisted the Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department and The City of Jonesboro with many projects;
WHEREAS, Jerry Bookout and Paul Bookout acquired $150,000 in appropriations from the 2003 Arkansas State Legislative meeting to construct the playground at Access #3 in Craighead Forest Park.
WHEREAS, Jerry Bookout meets the naming criteria outlined in item “D” in resolution number 2005:120;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That the official name for the playground at Access #3 be the “Jerry Bookout Memorial Playground.”
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 16th day of May, 2006.
