RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND ACCEPT THE FY2022-2023 PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT GRANT.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the FY2022-2023 Public Safety Equipment Grant in the amount of $100,000 with no local match requirement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, AR Police Department will utilize the funds to purchase cameras, licenses for cameras, vehicle mounted camera tower, scanners, printers, portable radios and Panasonic Toughbooks; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed the 2022 budget in RES-21:297, which will need to be amended to reflect the award amount.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will enter into agreement with the Arkansas Department of Public Safety to accept the FY2022-2023 Public Safety Equipment Grant for $100,000.
SECTION 2: The 2022 budget is hereby amended to include the aforementioned grant from the Department of Justice.
SECTION 3: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
