AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE JONESBORO CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 8.36.03 (f), KNOWN AS “TRAFFIC NEAR SCHOOLS” TO ESTABLISH “NO PARKING” FOR THE EAST SIDE OF PROGRESS DRIVE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro as follows:
SECTION 1: That the Jonesboro Municipal Code, Section 8.36.03, entitled “Traffic Near Schools” should be amended as follows:
(A) No Parking on the east side of Progress Drive for a distance of 200 feet, from the intersection with Race Street to the entrance of the Nettleton High School faculty parking lot.
SECTION 2: Due to the safety of bus-transported students and patrons visiting the Nettleton School Campus, an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
