AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1204, SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No.1204 is amended as follows:
There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, operation, removal, demolition of equipment used in occupancy location maintenance of buildings structures, including permits and penalties that certain building code known as the Southern Standard Building Code, being particularly the 1969 edition thereof including the 1971 amendments thereto, of which not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in our office of the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein and from the date of which this article shall take effects, provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction of small buildings and structures herein contained within the corporate limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: All Ordinances and/or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
