AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES: TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: The City Council finds and declares that the condition of traffic is such to endanger the traveling public and pedestrians at certain streets and intersections and that certain traffic control devices are established and placed at and on the following streets and intersections:

(a) Stop signs to be placed on both east and west side of Burke at its intersection with Culberhouse, making this a 4-way Stop.
(b) Stop signs to be placed on both the east and west side of Burke at its intersection with Flint, making this a 4-way Stop.
(c) A stop sign to be placed on Carson, the south side, stopping north bound traffic. This will make this a 3-way Stop.
(d) A stop sign to be placed at the southwest corner of Neely Road at its intersection with Neely Lane, with east-bond traffic yielding to all other traffic.
(e) The speed limit on Hwy. 63B from the Mo Pacific Railroad south to the city limits be increased from 25 mph to 35 mph.
(f) Stop sign at Rosemond and Greenwood, traffic on Rosemond to stop for traffic on Greenwood.

Section 2: The drivers of all vehicles shall obey all traffic control signals per instruction on the face thereof.

Section 3: The Chief of Police or some other person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described streets at the proper places, appropriate signs designating traffic control as set out and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to tear down, remove or mutilate such signs or violate the instructions on the face of said signs.

Section 4: Every person convicted of a violation of any provision of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than Fifty-Dollars ($50.00).
