AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF TWO STREETS IN DUDLEY SUBDIVISION OF A PART OF BLOCKS B, C, D, E, F AND G OF DUDLEY’S FIRST ADDITION TO THE TOWN OF NETTLETON, ARKANSAS (NOW JONESBORO, ARKANSAS)

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Whereas, a petition was duly filed by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas on the 26th day of July 1965, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon a street designated on the plat of Dudley’s Sub-division of a part of Block B, C, D, E, F and G of Dudley’s first addition to the Town of Nettleton, Arkansas (now Jonesboro, Arkansas) which streets or portions thereof, are described as follows:
(1) That portion of Leroy Street beginning at James Street and running West to Dudley Avenue.
(2) That portion of Dudley Street beginning at Oliver Street and running North to a point parallel to the North Line of Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Block B of said Sub-division:
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the Notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard and has ascertained that the streets, or portions thereof, herein above described, have heretofore been dedicated to the public use as streets; have not actually been used by the public generally for a period of at least five years prior to the filing of the petition for abandonment; that all owners of the property abutting the street to be vacated have filed with the City Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such street.
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its right, together with the right of the public generally, in and to the streets or portions thereof, in Dudley’s Sub-division of Lots B, C, D, E, F and G of Dudley’s first additio...
