AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE DUTIES AND SALARY OF THE CITY ATTORNEY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: The City Attorney shall perform the following duties:

 

a. Represent the City of Jonesboro in all matters pertaining to the Municipal Court including Appeals to the Circuit Court.

b. Represent the City of Jonesboro in all civil matters where the City is a party.

c. Confer with the Mayor, Council members and department heads on matters affecting the City.

d. Draft all ordinances, contracts, lease agreements, etc., required by the City.

 

Section 2: The City Attorney shall be paid a monthly salary of $1,000.00 for the services set forth in Section 1. The City Attorney shall not charge the City for any additional services.

 

Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that due to the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the financial continuity of the City of Jonesboro, there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of March, 1982.
