CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 17, 1978

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday, July 17, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Mayor and all aldermen.

On motion by Mr. Park, seconded by Mr. Smith and unanimous vote of council, the minutes of July 3, 1978, were approved as mailed.

After discussion on property located at 1327 South Main, and requests that additional time be granted the owners for renovation, council agreed that sufficient time had been granted and condemnation would continue.

After Jerry Reece, representing the Parks and Recreation Commission, had presented a report to council, Mr. Minx moved that Mark Milholland be employed as Director at $11,000 salary, to be re-evaluated in six months. Mr. Smith seconded the motion and all council voted aye.

Mr. Sanderson moved that two annexation ordinances scheduled for first reading be tabled for two weeks. Motion was seconded by Mr. Smith. All voted aye.

The following bids were opened for an icemaker:

Delta Supply $1,636.00
Cemo Dist. 1,812.00
Dixie Equip 1,600.00
Barnett Rest. 1,500.00
Alpha Rest. Supply 2,332.00

On motion be Mr. Sanderson, seconded by Mr. Minx and unanimous vote of council, the low bid which meets the specs be accepted.

The following bids were opened for a rear packer:

Hawkins Equip Co. $10,528.00
Scruggs Equip Co. 11,080.60

Ms. Haigler moved that the low bid meeting the specs be accepted, seconded by Mr. Stricklin. All voted aye.

Mr. Hannah offered the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS WHICH ANY ONE PERSON CAN KEEP AT ANY ONE TIME WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF

Mr. Park offered the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1266 AS AMENDED, THE SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING CERTAIN RULES AND REGULATIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE CARE AND KEEPING OF DOGS WITHIN THE CITY OF JONESBORO ...
