AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 1930 CONCERNING HANDICAPPED SPACES AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESORO, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1930 is amended as follows:
(a) Section 15 - Handicapped spaces are created at the following:
(1) On the North side of Huntington, the first parking space West of Main;
(2) Place sign to designate space in front of 311 Union (Abilities Unlimited) on the West side of Union; and
(3) Place sign to designate space on the East side of Main in the 700 block on the 1st space North of St. Pierre’s parking lot.
(4) Delete the following: (J) “The parking space in front of 221 South Main on the West side of the street. The first slot North of the handicapped ramp on the West side of Main.”
(b) Section 16 (e) (5) - (Violations): The following is deleted: “And instructing such owner or operator to report at the office of the City Collector in regard to such violation.”
Section 2. Due to the need for effective enforcement of this ordinance, an emergency is therefore declared and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
