The quitclaim deed was executed on September 15, 1964, conveying the acreage for the cemetery to the City of Jonesboro from Loving Star Lodge #63 of the K. of P. Lodge. It was signed by Lodge committeemen W.E. Harrison, Josh Hiner, Gus Ivy and Chris Hoskins. It was filed In Book 159, Page 596 on September 28, 1964.
Resolution 2005:53 passed May 3, 2005, coveyed a portion of the property to the Arkansas State Highway Commission for the Washington Avenue access on Highway 63. The warranty deed is dated July 5, 2005. Highway Department deed filed in the Circuit Clerk’s Office on July 8, 2005, in Book 701 Pages 517-519.
Does the city still own the property? Yes, less the property conveyed to the Highway Department.
