AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES FROM R-1 TO R-3 LOCATED OFF WILLOW ROAD AS REQUESTED BY HERBERT RAY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the Change in zoning district boundaries as follows:
From Residential (R-1) to Residential Three (R-3) if property described as follows: (Off Willow Rd., S and W of Roadway Trucking Co., Herbert Ray)
Begin at the Northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence South 89° 20' West 30.0 feet to the West right-of-way line of Willow Road, the point of beginning proper; thence South along said West right-of-way line 100.0 feet; thence South 89° 20' West 300.00 feet; thence South 105.0 feet; thence South 89° 20' West 286.5 feet to the Southeasterly right-of-way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence North 32° 23' East along said right- of-way line 601.6 feet; thence North 89° 20' East 1144.2 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 10.18 acres.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
