Title
A RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING FOR AN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT BETWEEN THE CITY OF JONESBORO AND THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT, FOR THE 2011 SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL FEDERALLY FUNDED GRANT PROGRAM.

Whereas, the City of Jonesboro applied for federal funding to install 2 flashers at Westside School and construct sidewalks at University Heights Elementary, Philadelphia Elementary, and Nettleton Junior High, and
 
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro was awarded $194,946 to implement said projects in the form of Job 100772, Jonesboro SRTS I (2011), and
 
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro budgeted expenditures for said project in the FY 2012 federal fund budget, and
 
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro will be reimbursed 100% of said expenditures, up to the awarded amount of $194,946;
 
Now Therefore be it resolved by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
 
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro shall enter into agreement with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to implement Job 100772, Safe Routes to School Grant (2011), to install flashers at Westside School, and construct sidewalks at University Heights Elementary, Philadelphia Elementary, and Nettleton Junior High, and
 
Section 2: The Mayor, Harold Perrin, and the City Clerk, Donna Jackson, are hereby authorized to execute all documents to effectuate this agreement.
