AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN PARKING METER ZONES AND TIME LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS; THE REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS ON CERTAIN STREETS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The timing on parking meters on Main Street in the City are hereby altered and changed as follows:
(a) The timing of meters shall be changed so that one hour of parking will be provided for five cents and two hours of parking will be provided for one dime or two nickels, except at the first space from all East and West intersections, and the first space North and South of all fire plugs, and the “NO PARKING” areas in front of the State Theater, which places shall provide for 30 minute parking only five cents.
Section 2: There shall be no parking meters from Monroe Avenue West of Madison Street and no parking meters on Madison Street. The City Inspector’s Office is hereby directed to remove all parking meters located on Monroe Avenue West of Madison Street and to remove all parking meters from Madison Street.
Section 3: There shall be no parking meters placed on any street West of Madison or East of East Street.
Section 4: A state of emergency is hereby declared to exist and, therefore, this Ordinance is to take effect upon passage and publication. All Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
