AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE A SUM OF MONEY FROM UN-APPROPRIATED FUNDS TO FUND A SETTLEMENT OF A PENDING LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
Section 1: The City Council hereby appropriates from un-appropriated funds in the sum of $32,660.00 to be appropriated for use in settling a pending lawsuit filed against the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: The City Council authorized the Mayor and Director of Finance to execute and documents necessary to settle the pending claim and to seek reimbursement of any monies paid in settlement of the claim from the appropriate person or entity.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained and enacted that the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas hereby appropriates from un-appropriated funds the sum of $32,660.00 to be utilized in the settlement of a pending claim filed against the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and the City Council further authorizes the Mayor and Director of Finance to execute any and all documents necessary to settle the pending claim and to seek reimbursement of any monies paid from the appropriate person or entity; and, therefore, an emergency hereby is declared and this ordinance shall be necessary for the preservation and promotion of the public peace, health and safety, this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
