BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:  

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) To Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

The following described lands in Craighead County, Arkansas, to-wit: That part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, described as follows:   Beginning at the Northwest corner of said tract, run thence North 89°04' East 283.1 feet to the Westerly Right of Way line of U. S. Highway No. 63, run thence South 41°54' East along said right of way line 273.1 feet, run thence South 31°45' East along said right of way line 41.0 feet, run thence South 42°58' East along said right of way line 401.3 feet, run thence South 42°14' West 166.0 feet, run thence South 89°16' West 662.8 feet, run thence North 1°12' East 658.7 feet to the point of beginning, containing 8.47 acres, more or less, and subject to a 100 foot utility right of way running North-South across the approximate center of said tract.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
