RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE THE EFFORTS OF THE JONESBORO JAYCEES AND TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE TWO SEAT BELTS FOR EACH POLICE VEHICLE AND THE FIRE CHIEF’S CAR

WHEREAS, the value of automotive safety belts is confirmed unanimously by traffic safety experts, and

WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Jaycees, with the cooperation of local automotive dealers, propose to sponsor a Safety Belt Campaign in this area during the coming month;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Jonesboro that this Council go to record as endorsing the efforts of the Jonesboro Jaycees in this safety campaign, and further, that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to purchase two such seat belts for each police vehicle and the Fire Chief’s car.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 21^st day of May, 1962.
