CITY COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY NIGHT NOVEMBER 4, 1974
The City Council met in regular session in City Hall, November 4, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Province, Dr. Bowers, Hannah, Stricklin, Minx, Smith, Bowers, Burns, Johnson, Bridger and Ward.
Mr. Bowers offered the following Resolution and Mr. Stricklin moved with Mr. Smith seconding the motion that the Resolution be adopted. All voted aye and motion carried.
RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE PROVISIONS OF AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, PROJECT NO. 8-05-0033-01
The resolution was given the number 1974:25.
Mr. Stricklin moved with Mr. Johnson seconding the motion that the Airport Commission be highly commended for the excellent job they have done. All voted aye, motion carried.
An ordinance to remove stop signs off of Matthews at Vine Street was on 2nd reading.
An ordinance to prohibit parking on a part of W. Nettleton was on the 2nd reading.
Mr. Minx moved with Dr. Bowers seconding the motion that the CME Church be allowed to solicit funds for 30 days. All voted aye and motion carried.
Mr. Ward moved with Mr. Bowers seconding the motion that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. All voted aye and motion carried.
Mr. Burns moved with Mr. Stricklin seconding the motion that the recommendation of the Parking Committee pertaining to the parking lots be accepted. All voted aye, motion carried.
There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
